About us

The steady hands behind Australia's connected future

We are General Direct Solutions — a dedicated contracting force for the nation's largest telcos. Our work is the infrastructure you never see but rely on every day.

Our story

Twenty years in the trench, not in the office

General Direct Solutions was built by field people. Every director and supervisor here has personally hauled cable, run a splice tray and stood in a trench at 2am under traffic control. That is why our estimates hold up and our programs land.

Over 20+ years we have worked through every generation of Australian telecommunications infrastructure — copper, fibre, HFC and hybrid networks — for carriers and the prime contractors who deliver for them.

Today we operate multi-disciplinary crews across Sydney and greater NSW, and mobilise Australia-wide for program work. Our size is deliberate: large enough to scale for a national program, small enough that the person who quotes your job is the person accountable for it.

How we work

Four things we will not compromise on

Do it once, do it right

Rework costs the program more than time. Our crews build to standard the first time and test to prove it.

Everyone goes home

No task is worth an injury. Crews are empowered to stop work, and we back them when they do.

Own the outcome

We do not hand over problems. If something goes wrong on our scope, we are on site fixing it.

Straight answers

If a date is not achievable, you hear it early — not the day the milestone is due.
